Scotland's Highlands and North Coast

Our coastal drive along Loch Eriboll took us passed the crofting township of Laid, created in the 1800s to house people cleared from Eriboll, to make way for sheep. The forced eviction of inhabitants of the Scottish Highlands was known as The Highland Clearances.
